Summer 5-Day Experience

Visiting with April this summer was very productive and informative. I was able to see her and her students at SLC during their Chapter Display. I learned that their chapter is very involved with fabrication (noted)! When I saw April the other few times following SLC, it was just her and I. I felt as though I needed the one-on-one time before students so I could really dig into the details with her so I could feel more prepared. My last day, I visited while there were students and got to see how she runs her classes. Some of her classes were more than 35 kiddos… felt a little intimidated by the class size! It was also a little nerve-wracking to be there as a stranger and everyone staring and wondering who you are. I wish I had opened up a little and talked to the students a bit more. I give myself a little grace though for it being my first time in an ag class that big. Little anxious for the journey ahead but I have a feeling I will learn a lot about myself in the process! I’ll try to be better at getting some pictures too. The one I have uploaded is part of her greenhouse. All of the plants were propagated by her students!
